There is only one way to travel in style and that is to be chauffeur driven in a limo. The fact that limousines are looked upon as being a luxurious form of transport was reinforced this week when a two block stretch of parking in Manhattan was converted to a limousines-only lane.
Clearly, this area is only for those who can afford it. Limousines can now park outside two Trump Place residential buildings on Riverside Boulevard, waiting for their passengers, without being at risk of getting a ticket.
Dedicated black car lanes are common outside New York office buildings, but it is unusual to see them outside a residential block. Any ordinary vehicles caught parking in the area are towed away.
This is a wealthy area and residents are clearly used to travelling in such luxury. Unfortunately, most of us have to reserve this mode of travel for special occasions only. However, you don’t need a dedicated limousine lane to feel like you’re being well treated. A chauffeur driven luxury car is usually sufficient, particularly when it drops you off at the door of your destination and picks you up from there again afterwards.
