New "Installments"
Hello All,
the latest in on-board pampering:
2 iPads with full internet access, both have 27 hours of music, 25 GB of movie clips, 3000+ photos and about 150 Apps ranging from games, handy apps such as world times, news etc, scientific apps to general utility apps. There is an iPhone installed for general use and for the guest who forgot to bring their phone I can hand out a spare phone. And the car is a WiFi hotspot as well!

Our Limousines are synonymous with VIP treatment

Dedicated black car lanes are common outside New York office buildings, but it is unusual to see them outside a residential block. Any ordinary vehicles caught parking in the area are towed away.
This is a wealthy area and residents are clearly used to travelling in such luxury. Unfortunately, most of us have to reserve this mode of travel for special occasions only. However, you don’t need a dedicated limousine lane to feel like you’re being well treated. Le Chauffeur, a short history lesson.
A Chauffeur is not simply your classic driver, a "driver" may deliver pizza etc. Being a Chauffeur is a whole culture unto itself. The term does not even mean “driver.” Originally the term Chauffeur comes from the French language, where “chauffer” means to stoke, and “chauffeur” is therefore a stoker.
The reason for this is that historically, the first automobiles, just as their early counterparts in railroad rolling stock and watercraft, were driven by steam and needed the driver – “le chauffeur” – to stoke the vehicle’s engine, “le moteur.” You see, the first generation of motorcars were powered by gasoline (“petrol”) and relied on preheated “hot tubes” located in the cylinder head to start up the engine: this was in the days before electrical ignition.
So the original "Chauffeur" was essentially the heater of those tubes, priming the system at the beginning of the trip and counting on the engine’s compression cycle to keep the tubes continuously heated to the right temperature.
